After everything In could find recommended on the internet: baking soda, vinegar, salt, toothpaste, wet towel .etc. etc., I gave up since there was an area that was just gross and would not come off no matter how hard I rubbed. This morning I used the Faultless product and it took about 4 tries but the plate is now looking very clean, all the stuff came off. It was easy, just apply 2 1″ strips to towel and use hot iron with steam off on it. The steam holes are still a bit dirty looking so I used a Q tip dipped in vinegar to clean. Hopefully this will do it. Plan to use this each time I iron until I am sure there is no more gunk left on or in iron. Then will just use vinegar since this little tube is very costly. Nice to find something that actually works as advertised.
