Having been a dog mom for a lot of years, I’ve had experience a it both the hard plastic cone of shame as well as the inflatable collars but have found the pups to be utterly miserable when wearing them and destructive from running into things or running them to get them off. Not a pleasant experience for anyone.My last fur baby was so small that our vet suggested we get a couple of baby onesies and cut holes for his tail. It worked so much better but there were still challenges from the tail cut out unraveling to them just not fitting right for him to walk comfortably.I now have six-month-old siblings and had them fixed on December 22nd. I purchased two of these suits for each of them before their surgeries and tried them on as soon as they arrived. Neither of the pups seemed to mind them a bit and got comfortable with daily life wearing them before the big day.We took the suits with them when they had their surgeries and they came home wearing them. Because they were already used to them, it wasn’t a big deal for them to be wearing the suits.Of course, they are puppies and each had an occasional accident while wearing them so I’m very glad I bought spare for each of them so ther was a clean, dry one on standby. The one thing I didn’t count on was it raining for four days straight. They got wet and muddy going outside to potty and I ended up ordering an additional suit for rotation and it worked out perfectly.Both of the pups are all healed up now and back to living naked doggie lives. The suits have been washed and one is put away juat in case, but I’ve donated the other four to the local rescue where they came from and they were so grateful that I bought a coin of other sizes just to help them out.
