A rare and highly detailed Askew of London statement necklace, richly decorated with a striking combination of Buddha, pagodas, imperial dragons and tassel elements, all finished in signature 18ct gold plate. The substantial rope-style chain leads to an intricate pendant composition, where red glass cabochons and beads in varied shapes accent floral motifs, dragons and suspended drops. Beneath the pagodas sit large rectangular red glass cabochons, finely carved with peony roses and foliage, while the seated Buddha is centred above a carved cabochon base and holds a green mirrored rhinestone sphere—symbolic of healing and wisdom. The level of detail is exceptional, with ornamentation continuing across both the front and reverse—hallmarks of Askew’s craftsmanship. The clasp is a decorative box-type fitting with loop closure, adorned with floral detail and a bezel-set red cabochon, all in perfect working order.
